HYPNOTHERAPY SERVICES: HYPNOSIS WITH JEFF

Authorized Psych-K Facilitator

Jeff Bentley, CHt

Welcome to the Information Center for Jeffrey (Jeff) A. Bentley, CHt and the Cincinnati School of Hypnosis.

My practice is helping you solve your own issues through hypnosis and the power of your mind. It is my purpose to help you empower yourself to make positive changes you desire and create for yourself the life you deserve.

Although hypnosis or hypnotherapy are the primary modalities I utilize in my practice, I am also trained in (first level) and authorized to practice Psych-K—another mind oriented healing modality. Psych-K is similar in aim to hypnotherapy, but differs in application.

I see my role as a therapist as that of a facilitator, guide or teacher. My purpose is to help you to find that place, deep within your own mind, where anything you ever desired or dreamed of can be yours, so that you—using the power you already possess, can make your life the way you envision it.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy is not a new science, by any means. It has been practiced and studied for hundreds of years, and there is even some evidence of its practice as far back as ancient Egypt.

However, to many people, particularly in the greater Cincinnati area, knowledge of hypnosis is so limited that it appears to be something new. So, as an overview, I will answer a few questions you may have.

Is it safe? Absolutely! On the page titled How It Works I discuss the fact that the subconscious mind has the ability to reject any suggestion it sees as being unacceptable. I also discuss safety, briefly, on the How It Feels page.

Hypnosis has been documented as far back as the 1830s as having been used for anesthesia. Dentists employed its use for many years to reduce fears, as well as for anesthesia. Many mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, etc.) use it as a tool today.

Though very few states require licensing or in any way regulate hypnosis or hypnotherapy, it is interesting to note that in the1950s the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Psychological Association (APA) both approved hypnosis as a tool. The British and French Medical communities also endorse the use of hypnosis. The Catholic Church approved hypnosis for its parishioners in 1958, and most major religious bodies in the United States recognize and approve its use. In fact, there are a great many of the clergy in this country who are trained in hypnosis or hypnotherapy. Even the Federal Government formally recognizes hypnotherapy as a distinct profession.

Hypnosis is also quite effective in group settings. I will offer group sessions and packages from time to time which will offer the client a substantial cost savings. Keep an eye, both on my website, newsletters and in local publications for these sessions.

Much of my work involves regressions (either past-life or age regression) or helping people achieve better meditation. Of course, I am also qualified, as are all trained Hypnotherapists, in helping you with the more traditional uses of hypnosis: to stop smoking, lose weight, reduce stress or improve performance.

While I love helping people find power in their lives, I also love to teach. On the Links Page you will find a link to The Cincinnati School of Hypnosis, the official educating arm of my practice.

How It Works” explains, briefly, about the hypnotheraputic process. “How It Feels” gives information specific about the hypnosis experience. The Lucinda link takes you to a summary page about my in-work novel “Lucinda: Mistress to the Mob.” On that site you can read excerpts from Lucinda, as well as some of my articles and other written works;

I trust you will find the site informative and enjoyable and would be pleased to serve you in any way I can.

In Light,

Jeff
